Responsible pet ownership

Are you a dog or cat owner? Or are you thinking of getting a pet? Pets are one of the men’s stress relievers. They are giving back love and joy whenever we are taking good care of them. Now, I will give you some tips on how to become a responsible pet owner.
Responsible pet ownership involves choosing the right pet for your lifestyle, complying with the law, caring for your pet’s health, and ensuring your pet doesn’t cause problems in the community. Being a responsible owner ensures you and your pet can enjoy a long and happy relationship. For me, registering my pet in associations like Philippine Canine Club Inc. is not that necessary; but if you’re capable of registering your pet to associations or organizations why not? Responsible pet ownership is not just by giving shelter, food, medicines (vitamins, vaccines, and etc.) and other needs of your pet. Owning a pet is a lifetime commitment. If you can't make the commitment, don't get a pet. You should choose a pet that fits your lifestyle, don’t get a high energetic dog, if you don't have the time to exercise him. If you can't afford grooming or can't do the grooming yourself, pick a low maintenance dog. Make sure your home is "pet" safe. Pesticides, medications, household cleaners and some houseplants (dieffenbachia, philodendron, hyacinth, and mistletoe) can be deadly to your pet. Play and train your pet, make them sociable to other people and animals. Provide your pet a proper diet, don’t give them foods that can irritate or harm them. And of course, take special care of your pet especially during their senior years. And lastly, be kind to your pet and show him your love. Always bear in mind that YOU ARE HIS WORLD.

Btw, I am also a pet owner. It’s a 2-year old male Shih Tzu. I am a responsible owner and I love my pet! J
